As was demonstrated with the title, Jerry Springer: Uncensored, done correctly, ADR’s campaigns generate more than just money… they create cost effective awareness. When ADR instituted the Springer campaign, the sales of his uncensored tapes were in fact, defined as successful because the media buy became self sustaining. Each ad that was run generated more revenue than was used to purchase it.
In addition to selling the video tapes, an unintended consequence of this process was the discovery that these ads also functioned as powerful awareness advertising for the syndicated TV show itself!
The result: ratings, and the rates the show’s syndicators could charge advertisers, more than doubled!
